Physically tired, feeling a little weather-beaten on the face. Funny because most of our time was in the car! A bit of sensory overload from viewing the glowing yellow aspens punched in amongst the pines. The layers of the mountains exposed by road crews, the red clay rock atop the ashy silver sand piles – then the great castle cliffs of Glenwood Canyon. All the time attended by the company of the Colorado River, ever building, ever growing on its way to the Pacific. A delightful stop at the history museum in Glenwood Springs, a wish to return by train and bathe there. Then off to our layover – rest, sleep, renew and go.
