It’s been 4 weeks since our plane from Lisbon touched down in Newark, NJ.  I had spent months of preparation to handle every teeny weeny detail, cuz that’s how I roll.  After 2 ¾ years of residing in Setúbal, Portugal,

You can’t go home again

I live in Portugal.  An ocean away from my native country, customs and language.  After a year, I was weary of not knowing anything – or that’s how I felt.  I had acute sensations of separation, isolation and loneliness.  I

Leaving Denver

If you’re not careful, the future can become the past pretty darn quick.  A matter of days ago, we were on the road out of Denver pointed East.  In no time at all, Kansas, Indiana, Illinois, and Ohio crammed themselves

Journal post 9.29.15

What a surprise kind of day!  With intention to stop overnight at the halfway point, instead we got to Denver.  First stop was the Rio Grand Gorge Bridge outside of Taos.  One last taste of wilderness and nature…and the vastness

Journal post 9.28.15

Wonderful day in Sante Fe.  A nice walk in to town to see the Georgia O’Keefe museum.  She was astounding.  Curves and blended colors.  Then to Loretto Chapel;, beautiful on its own, but containing the Miraculous Staircase.  And then to
